Inspired by the ubiquitous stray dogs lounging around the campus of Chulalongkorn University, Otto Berchem decided to make special dog collars for these creatures who roam the streets of Bangkok. The images speak of care and belonging. (catalog text)

Otto Berchem immortalised the pack of dogs patrolling the university library's forecourt. He tagged this marginal population with collars, a sign of care and belonging. His loving portraits capture their languor, lazing in drifts of escaped air conditioning, framed by an institutional architecture they effortlessly domesticate. (David Teh)
